October 2016 Pastor Newsletter Article

It is so hard for Kaley and I to believe that we are only starting our third week as the Pastor at FBC. This place already feels so much like home. The boxes are starting to disappear, the parsonage is starting to look more and more like home, and relationships we have cultivated over a short amount of time all has us overwhelmed by how blessed we are to be called to Magnolia, MS.

So here are the top 5 things I have learned since becoming a Mississippian:
1.I have learned what a love bug is. It sure does take a lot of work to get those bugs off of the windshield.

2.I have also learned what a fire ant is. Just because they are small doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take them seriously. Those things leave a mark. I have proof. Thank you Jimmy for taking care of those for us.

3.I have learned that boiled peanuts are amazing and are best enjoyed with friends at a football game. I have had them before, but Tennessee must be doing something wrong. These are the best I have ever eaten!!

4.I have also learned what a Muscadine is. They taste amazing, especially in a jelly.

5. Finally, Kaley and I have both learned that Magnolia has the friendliest and most welcoming people we have ever met. We have been overwhelmed by how well you all have received us and made us feel right at home. We love you all and are praying that God will grant us a long-term ministry here.
